Some great ideas!

Some great ideas!

  • If your kids are old enough, it might be a good idea to let them prepare an extra special Valentine’s Day meal for you.  Keep it simple—stick to breakfast in bed.  Let the kids bring cereal, fruit, and juice.
  • Test how well you know one another!  Parents can create a little trivia game with questions about members of the family.  Who broke their arm at age 9?  Who made the honor roll for the first time?  Whose favorite color is green?  This can be a very fun family activity.  When you’re through playing that game, you can play any one of the great family-friendly games we have here at Coppin’s Gifts.
  • Another fun family activity for Valentine’s Day is to create cards for other people. The kids can handprint cards for the grandparents or for their friends. Handmade cards can be much more meaningful than the ones you will buy in a shop! And additionally kids get a lot of experience of literally putting their hearts into crafting the cards for beloved ones.

What are some of your favorite family-friendly Valentine’s Day activities?

Perfect Petzzz: Modeled After Perfect Pets!

Is the beagle perfect for you?

Is the beagle perfect for you?

We know that our Perfect Petzzz aren’t real dogs—but they sure do look like them!  We have many different “breeds” of dogs here in our Perfect Petzzz section.  Before you pick out one of these adorable little Petzzz, we thought you might want to know a bit about the breeds that they’re modeled off of.

Beagle

Beagles are generally merry, friendly, gentle, playful, and even-tempered.  Most beagles are also kind and gentle with children. Beagles crave lots of love and attention from their human families!  If you like to cuddle, the beagle Perfect Petzzz is right for you.

Black Lab

The Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed in the United States.  This is largely because Labs are people-oriented and extremely loving.

Boxer

The boxer is probably one of the most dignified breeds out there.  Boxers are courageous, strong, and extremely athletic.  If you’re looking for a great guard dog, a boxer is right for you.  (The Perfect Petzzz version can be your very sleepy guard dog!)

Collie

Collies are great family pets because they love to be with people.  They love kids, and actually tend to take a special interest in them.  Collies are herding dogs, so they follow their “flock” of children around all day and protect them quietly.  This breed tends to have a wide range of vocals as well as facial expressions, and that makes them great communicators.  (Think Lassie!)

Which of the Perfect Petzzz is perfect for you?  Check out all of the breeds right here at Coppin’s Gifts.

Willow Tree and Body Language

The Willow Tree collection by Susan Lordi represents human emotion in a really beautiful way.  These gorgeous figures use body language to convey emotions.  Are you curious about how body language is used in our everyday lives?  Take a cue from Willow Tree and learn what body language signals represent.  Here at Coppin’s Gifts, we’ve compiled a few tips.

Experience real emotions with Willow Tree

Experience real emotions with Willow Tree

Head

  • A tilted head symbolizes interest in someone or something.
  • A person stroking their chin is evaluating or making a decision.
  • The occasional nod from a listener to a speaker is a positive message; it’s an indication that they are listening and are interested.

Upper Body

  • Open arms, particularly when combined with showing palms, mean that someone is approachable and willing to communicate with others.
  • Upward facing palms signify that a person’s defences are down and that they’re speaking sincerely with an open heart.
  • Open palms occasionally touching the chest imply honesty.
  • Using hands with downward facing palms symbolises a calming action.

Lower Body

  • A normal, relaxed standing pose is with the feet positioned at shoulder width.
  • In a relaxed sitting pose, the thighs are typically slightly open, with legs running in parallel from the hips
  • Crossing ankles is a sign of being fairly relaxed, especially when the legs are stretched forward and the person is leaning back.

Look at the Willow Tree figurines… what does their body language say to you?

DaVinci Beads Save the Day

Don’t you just love stories like this?  Here’s a little tidbit about how Coppin’s Gifts can really help save the day when you’re looking for a great gift.

DaVinci Beads

Dear Coppin’s Gifts,

My mom’s birthday always sneaks up on me.  It’s in the beginning of January… so it’s incredibly close to Christmas.  Just when I think things are calming down after the holidays, my mom’s birthday pops up.  Unfortunately for me, I was out of town on a business obligation for the week leading up to her birthday.  So, essentially, I only had a few days to figure out what I was going to get her.  I completely forgot.  While I was out of town, she popped into my head.  I quickly logged onto your site and ordered her a DaVinci Beads bracelet and a few charms.

I may have been out of town, but Coppin’s Gifts was there for me to make sure that my mom’s birthday went off without a hitch.  As I expected, she absolutely adored the DaVinci Beads.  I have a feeling I may have started an addiction…

Thanks again!

Susie
