Jim Shore Figurines: A Gift That Will Be Treasured Forever

Sometimes, finding a gift for someone that you love can be a difficult task. It can be hard to think of something that your loved one would really appreciate. While you could buy clothing, a toy, or perfume, these are items that your loved one may already have tons of, and the last thing you want to do is find something that this special someone will really appreciate and treasure forever.

Instead of struggling trying to think of something that your loved one will love, consider purchasing Jim Shore figurines. These figurines are handcrafted and depict some of the most beloved characters that have become such a staple in fantasy land. From the most famed Disney characters to holiday figurines, the gifts are something that your loved one will be sure to cherish forever — whether it’s a child or an adult.

So, why are these beautifully crafted figurines such a wonderful gift idea? Here’s a look at some of the biggest reasons why you should consider investing your money in these figurines for a gift instead of your old stand-by gift:

They won’t be tossed in a closet. While a shirt, a sweater, or a pair of shoes may be something that your loved one will appreciate, that gift will really only be used for a short period of time. Clothing and shoes get worn, they shrink, or they just go out of fashion. A Jim Shore figurine, however, is something that your loved one will be able to enjoy forever.

They are meaningful. While yes, a toy or a new counter-top appliance may require some thought, they aren’t as thoughtful as a Jim Shore figurine. Taking the time to think of the perfect figurine to give your loved one just how much you care.

No summer is complete without backyard barbecues, camping trips, and of course, s’mores. Loved by parents and children alike, this yummy DIY dessert is not just a menu course, but a great activity. Over the years, people have developed innovative marshmallow roasters to minimize burn potential and give us a much better alternative to a long stick.

We even have the fire fishing pole right here that adds a whole new dimension of fun to roasting sugary goodness over an open flame! “When you JIG it, it FLIPS it!” Any family that camps often will love how easy these are to use and will find that they are not just perfect for marshmallows, but also for hot dogs, shrimp, and anything you can skewer.

  • Use a different type of candy, like peanut butter cups, rice crispy bars, or caramel bars
  • Jazz up the basics with sprinkles or nuts
  • Add fruit, particularly strawberries or bananas between the marshmallow and chocolate layers

July is National Ice Cream Month

Celebrate this fun holiday in style!

Celebrate this fun holiday in style!

Ronald Reagan dubbed July national Ice Cream Month in 1984. Specifically, the third Sunday of the month is National Ice Cream Day, and that’s when proper ice cream celebrations take place. Why not celebrate every day of the month in fun, cool, and sweet ways? Or perhaps by putting a new ice cream charm on your Charm It bracelet? CoppinsGifts.com has a great recipe on how to make this sweet treat at home without an ice cream maker!

Make your own ice cream!

Makes 1 quart or about 8 servings

1 1/2 cups whole milk

2 large eggs

3/4 cup sugar

1 vanilla bean split and scraped (or 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract)

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

Things you’ll need to make it:

Large mixing bowl

Small 1-quart bowl

Chopped ice

3/4 cup rock salt (or kosher salt)

Electric hand mixer (or a whisk)

  • Fill your large bowl half-way with ice and salt. Put the small bowl in ice, almost completely buried. Fill that bowl half-way with the ice cream mix you made.
  • Beat this mixture for ten minutes with the hand mixer. The mix will not turn into ice cream immediately. If you’re using a whisk, beat for an extra five minutes.
  • Freeze for 45 minutes.
  • Remove from the freezer. Mix again for 5 minutes.
  • Cover the top with plastic wrap, stick back into freezer for at least two hours.
